The ACAA, established in June of 1985, and produced annually by Pride News Magazine, recognizes and honours the accomplishments, achievements and excellence of African-Canadians in 14 different categories of endeavours. It is also intended to offer sparkling testimonies of hope and inspiration to our youth -- courageous examples of achievement and “overcoming” which they can emulate and perpetuate.

Dr. McKenzie is a Senior Scientist within the CAMH Social Equity and Health Research section, and Deputy Director of Continuing & Community Care in the Schizophrenia Program.

The 2011 ACAA will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the Jane Mallett Theatre, inside the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, 27 Front Street East. The ceremony starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are $50.
